The Conker Federation now officially recognises three version of the game.

HISTORY OF THE GAME

Conkers is a traditional game played using the seeds of horse chestnut trees.

The game is played by two players, each with a conker threaded onto a piece of string: they take turns striking each other's conker until one breaks. The first recorded game of conkers took place in 1848 (but that doesn't mean it wasn't around before that), the game grew in popularity during the 19th century. Conkers are also known regionally as Cheesers, Cheggers and Cobblers.

NEW GAMES

The Conker Federation has officially recognised 'Street Conkers' and 'Gentlemen's Conkers', so now you can play whenever you want, even when it's not conker season.

STREET CONKERS

If you are a rule breaker, a bad boy, then Street Conkers is for you. The only rule is that there are no rules, but don't come crying to us when your best conker gets destroyed by a double baked, triple varnished nut destroyer.

GENTLEMAN'S CONKERS

If you are a little more refined, and like Gin & Tonic, then the Gentleman's Game is right up your street. You will require a little more kit, but that doesn't matter, you are high society.
